Thursday November 2,2017

Bicol University is now opening its doors to its Asian neighbors as part of its internationalization effort. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was recently inked with National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (NKUAS) in Kaohsiung City on October 22, 2017.

With this agreement, BU and NKUAS can now start working together along a number of areas like academic exchange, research collaboration, and student mobility, among others.

The MOU signing between BU and NKUAS took place during the 54th Founding Anniversary of the latter. BU was one of the few universities in the ASEAN region that was invited to be part of this historic event.

A month before the MOU signing with NKUAS, BU was also able to forge an agreement with the President of Shih Chien University of Taiwan on September 26 in Legazpi City. Officials of said university travelled down south of Manila for this significant event.

Shih Chien University will send its top professors to Bicol University to conduct a two-week Training-Course on Chinese Mandarin and on Taiwan Culture on November 18-December 3, 2017. They are also inviting two (2) students from Bicol University to attend the winter camp in Taiwan this coming December.

With these developments, Bicol University is indeed on its way to becoming an internationally recognized presence in the world-class academic landscape of its ASEAN neighbors.
