These are books that can be taken out for home-reading. They can be Foreign or Filipiniana materials. A maximum of two (2) Non-reserved Circulation books may be borrowed for overnight or week-end use to be returned on or before 9:00 A.M. the following school day.

The following online databases can be accessed in the Internet Section of the University Library:
ScienceDirect is a leading full-text scientific database offering journal articles and book chapters from more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 11,000 books.
Scopus is the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed research literature. With over 20,500 titles from more than 5,000 international publishers, Scopus offers researchers an accurate, easy and comprehensive tool to support their research needs in the scientific, technical, medical, social sciences, and arts and humanities fields.
c. Emerald Insight (Made possible through the Philippine eLibrary Project)
A Leading Library of Management Research. Provides online access to journals published by Emerald Publishing (formerly MCB). Includes journals in management and library and information services journals, as well as engineering, applied science and technology.
Health Research and Development Information Network (HERDIN) database is the national health research repository of the Philippines. HERDIN database provides quick and easy access to more than 50,000 citation and bibliographic information from published (Philippine health research journals , conference/convention proceedings, International databases and publications) and unpublished (research institutions research projects and reports, thesis and dissertations) health researches in the country.
Bicol University is among the partners/member-institutions of the HERDIN project in Region 5. It has its own HERDIN website which can be accessed at bu.herdin.ph. The BU-HERDIN database contains bibliographic entries of unpublished dissertations under the Master in Nursing program of the BU Graduate School.
2. Journals in CD-ROMS
These CD-ROMs contain perpetually-owned online journals of the library. Library users who wish to avail of these materials will have to request it from the librarian-in-charge.
C. General Reference
General reference materials like encyclopedias, dictionaries, indexes, yearbooks, handbooks, atlases, newspapers, magazines and journals are FOR ROOM USE ONLY.
D. Reserved Books
A Reserved Book may be borrowed for overnight or week-end use at the last hour before closing time to be returned on or before 9:00 A.M. the following school day. These are housed at the Reserved Books/Graduate Section.
E. Special Collection
The Special Collection materials include the : theses and dissertations, project feasibility studies, Bikolnon materials, Fiction, Rizaliana and other rare book collection and manuscripts. They are strictly FOR ROOM USE ONLY (except for Fiction books).
Users are required to comply with the copyright law.
F. Non-Book Materials (Print)
Non-book Materials include maps, vertical files, abstracts and indexes, bound periodicals, pamphlets, newsletters, and BU publications. They are FOR ROOM USE ONLY.
Serials include professional journals, newspapers, and popular magazines.
H. Multimedia Materials
Multimedia Materials consist of VCDs/DVDs, audiotapes, cassette tapes and CDs. They are housed in the Multimedia Section.
