19th BU Student Research and Development Forum Showcases Student Innovation for a Sustainable Future

On May 17, 2024, Bicol University, through the Office of the Vice President for Research Development and Extension, together with the different divisions and research centers, successfully hosted its 19th Student Research and Development Forum, themed “Promoting Student R&D Innovation for a Sustainable and Resilient Future,” via video conferencing. The event featured 98 research papers, including 80 from undergraduate programs and 18 from the Graduate School, reflecting the dedication, creativity, and academic excellence of students from various Bicol University colleges.

The research papers were organized into five BU RDE Agenda: Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources (AANR); Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology (IEET); Health and Health Systems Management (HHSM); Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CCA-DRRM); and Inclusive Education and Lifelong Learning (IELL). Distinguished experts in respective fields served as evaluators, ensuring the quality and credibility of the forum. Awards were given for Best Paper, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place within each thematic area, under the Research and Development categories.

Winners were announced following the simultaneous paper presentations. The awarding ceremony, held on May 20, 2024, at the BRFICC Amphitheater, recognized outstanding contributions from students, their research advisers, and college research coordinators.
