As part of Bicol University’s commitment to sustaining academic excellence, seven academic programs, two from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) and five from BU Tabaco, underwent a rigorous three-day Online Accreditation Survey Visit for 3rd Survey Phase 2 by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. from July 12 to 14, 2023. 

The Online Accreditation Survey Visit began with an opening meeting via Zoom conference on July 12. Present were the university officials, faculty members, personnel of the respective campuses involved, and the AACCUP accreditors. Subsequently, cluster meetings of the accreditors with the respective task force per academic program were held. 

In BUCIT, the BS Civil Technology program was evaluated and spearheaded by Dr. Edilberto Z. Andal from the Laguna State Polytechnic University, alongside Dr. Rene L. Celda from the Iloilo Science and Technology University, and Prof. Jocelyn T. Salviejo from the Ifugao State University. 

For the BS Electrical Technology program, the team of accreditors was led by Dr. Warlito D. Antonio from the Isabela State University, Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez from the Iloilo Science and Technology University, and Prof. Salviejo. 

Both programs were coordinated by Dr. Sanchez. 

Meanwhile, at BU Tabaco, the accreditation team for the BS Secondary Education Major in Mathematics and Science was led by Dr. Alberto D. Yazon from the Laguna State Polytechnic University, with Prof. Karen P. Andres from the President Ramon Magsaysay State University, and Prof. Salviejo. 

For the BS Entrepreneurship program, the assessment was led by Dr. Trinidad G. Pasong of the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, with Dr. Sisenando C. Masangcap Jr. of the Bataan Peninsula State University, and Dr. Liza M. Tamargo of the Ifugao State University. 

Dr. Lorna L. Acueva from President Ramon Magsaysay State University, led the accreditation for the BS Food Technology. She was joined by Dr. Benicia B. Briones of Pangasinan State University and Dr. Tamargo. 

In the online accreditation for BS Nursing, Dr. Loida O. Crespo led the team with Prof. Florabel T. Serajosef, both from Bulacan State University, and Dr. Tamargo. 

For the BS Social Work, Dr. Benny S. Soliman led the accreditation of the program. He was joined by Dr. Bernardo A. Zabala of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Tamargo.

Concluding the online accreditation program, a closing meeting was held on July 14, where Dr. Boyet L. Batang, the AACCUP Coordinator from Isabela State University, presented the overall impression of the program. In response, BU President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III expressed a statement of unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

A virtual awarding of certificates was held for the accreditors in appreciation for sharing their invaluable expertise.

Distinguished attendees included Dr. Ma. Julieta B. Borres, VP for Academic Affairs, who delivered the welcome address and presented the University Officials, and Atty. Norly P. Reyes, VP for Administration and Finance, where he extended his heartfelt appreciation through a word of thanks.
