BUCS grads gather for Grand Alumni Homecoming
Exhibiting a stalwart unity and enduring friendship among schoolmates, the Bicol University's College of Science (BUCS) Alumni Association held their Grand Alumni Homecoming, coined “Hirilingan Kang Mga CSians”, in Legazpi City last March 28.
With the assistance of around twenty event sponsors, this great gathering held at the South Ocean Villa (by David's Tea House) in Legazpi City was intended to be an opportunity for the graduates of BUCS to once again meet and look back to their joyful days as college students. The event also served as a venue for the election of the new group of officers of the BUCS Alumni Association.
The event began at around 6:00 in the evening with Dr. Ofelia Samar-Sy, president of the BUCS Alumni Association, expressing her gratitude to those in attendance in her opening message. Prof. Jocelyn Serrano, the Dean of BUCS, and Dr. Arnulfo Mascarinas, SUC President of Bicol University, alse respectively delivered a warm message to the participants of the homecoming.
Prof. Edgar Barrameda, president if the BU General Alumni Association Inc., also joined the gathered and shared kind words to his fellow alumni. It was then followed by a series of entertainment. Like intermission numbers, games and raffles, and diner with live band performance.
A testimony and sharing of experience was also given by Rico Zuniga, which was then followed by the election of the new BUCS Alumni Association. Once the election concluded, the new set of officers took their oath of office which was administrated by Prof. Edgar Barrameda. The program ended with Ms. Mary Joy Canon, secretary of BUCS Alumni Association, delivering the closing remarks.
