BCAARRD CMIs attend Pili IS virtual training, workshop
The Bicol Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (BCAARRD) spearheaded a virtual training and workshop on the Pili Information System (IS) last September 27, 2021.
Due to the growing numbers of newly appointed Knowledge Management (KM) Representatives, the event was catered to the KM Reps of BCAARRD's Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs).
Moreover, BCAARRD invited the creators of the Pili IS from Partido State University (ParSU) to share their expertise about the topic.
The ParSU Team created the Pili IS as part of their output in the Pili NICER Program, Project 4 entitled, “A Comprehensive PILI (Canarium ovatum Engl.) Information System Utilizing Web 2.0 Technologies: A Roadmap Towards KM Buildup.”
Dr. Ronnel Atole, the project leader of the fourth project, opened the discussion and discussed an overview of the Pili IS. He gave a brief yet elaborate discussion of the Pili IS.
Meanwhile, the other members of Project 4 also presented topics during the event; Mr. Rowell John B. Artiaga taught the participants how to navigate their way through the Pili IS; Mr. John Rey S. Lirag discussed the content of the Pili IS, while Mr. Salvador B. Briones discussed t the Usage Policy.
The virtual training-workshop was well attended by agencies from Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT), Philippine Coconut Authority – Albay Research Center (PCA-ARC), Bicol University (BU), Department of Science and Technology (DOST-V), and ParSu.
Despite the growing numbers of Covid-19 cases, the event was made possible due to the diligence of the BCAARRD Secretariat. (Julianne Nicolle G. Moral, SRA, BCAARRD)
