BU AEMCFI grants scholarship to 5 BUeños; eyes smart tablet donation anew

Five selected and deserving BUeños were awarded by the BU Alumni Endowment Management Council on Foundations, Inc. scholarship grant, at the BU Office of the President, on February 13, 2024. 

Every semester, BU AEMCFI will provide ₱60,000 to the grantees at ₱3,000 per month for four months, and an additional ₱2,000 from March onwards. Through the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) Grants-in-Aid program, the student beneficiaries will meet the criteria set by OSAS to qualify as grantees, and their academic progress will be monitored and reported to the foundation. 

The fortunate scholars selected were Francis Adriyelle Santelices (BS Electrical Engineering – College of Engineering), Maria Caryl A. Mirabel (BS Accountancy – College of Business, Economics, and Management), John Raven Nayve (BS Mechanical Engineering – CENG), Dherick Paz (Bachelor of Public Administration – Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance and Development), and Carl Cedric O. Guatlo (BS Social Work – College of Social Sciences and Philosophy).

The scholarship program was made possible through BU AEMCFI officers and trustees, led by its President, Dr. Fay Lea Patria M. Lauraya, 7th BU President; Mrs. Fe N. Lastrella and her husband, representing the Benefactors; and the Board of Trustees: Dr. Flor A. Jenkin and Dr. Nora L. Licup.

Present also at the awarding were Dr. Ma. Julieta B. Borres, VP for Academic Affairs; Atty. Norly P. Reyes, VP for Administration and Finance; Prof. Daves L. Tonga, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, and Prof. Jazzlyn T. Imperial, Director of the Institutional Student Programs and Services Division.


Smart tablet donation drive 2.0

In her meeting with Prof. Imperial, Dr. Lauraya mentioned the organization’s plan for another smart tablet donation drive for the students. Details will soon be announced once finalized.
