Undergraduate Program
High School graduates may be admitted to the Bicol University College of Education as freshmen if they meet the following conditions:
1. Payment of non-refundable examination fee of one hundred pesos (P100.00).
2. Certification of good moral character from the principal of the secondary school last attended.
3. Meeting the quota score in the BU College Entrance Test (BUCET).
4. Medical Certificate;
5. Passing the interview by the College Screening Committee.

I. Graduate Programs
Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management
This program aims to develop in students advanced level of theoretical and practical competence in educational leadership and management; capability to undertake advanced independent research in educational leadership and management, and disseminate the results and implications for wider utilization; expertise in designing educational programs and systems to improve educational practice; and social consciousness, concern for aesthetic and cultural heritage; and a deep resolve to promote sustainable development through research-based policy actions and advocacy.
Ph.D. in Mathematics Education
This program aims to develop in students’ expert level of theoretical knowledge in Mathematics education; competence and motivation to draw from expert level knowledge to understand and solve different problems related to Mathematics education; and competence to undertake advanced independent research in Mathematics education, including the ability to pose theoretically meaningful problem and hypotheses, gather and analyze data.
Ph.D. in Educational Foundation
This program aims to develop in students advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge and competence in educational foundations; capability to undertake advanced independent research in an area of specialization in education, including the ability to pose theoretically meaningful problem and hypotheses, gather and analyze data, and communicate the results and theoretical and practical implications of the research to diverse audiences; expertise in designing educational programs and systems to improve educational practice; and social consciousness, concern for aesthetic and cultural heritage; and a deep resolve to promote sustainable development through research-based policy actions and advocacy.
MA English Education
This program aims to develop teachers who can produce innovative and creative instructional programs or materials to improve the teaching-learning process in English education; design researches that replicate, verify, validate, contextualize and apply theoretical and practical knowledge about the various aspects of the educational process; exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the current trends and practices in English instruction; and apply the highest form of competency in English education.

This program aims to develop professionals who can evaluate critically the established theoretical foundations, perspectives, principles and views on education, Social Studies teaching and the Social Sciences; discuss a wide range of themes/ topics on Sociology, Anthropology, Political Law, Geography, Economics and other fields of the Social Sciences; have enriched social science-based knowledge which they will eventually share to their students and integrate within their own classroom experiences; enhance their instructional, analytical, and research skills to make Social Studies interesting and comprehensible to their students.
The graduates are likewise expected to assume professional and leadership roles in instructional planning, curriculum development and advocacy for Social Studies as an essential component of Social Science Education; evaluate and utilize technology resources and determine their suitability for instructional purposes; conceptualize, design and conduct social science researches/ action plan cum research; show familiarity with recent curriculum initiatives which have particular relevance for Social Studies teachers; integrate recent scholarship and professional trends within their own classroom experiences and demonstrate higher order thinking skills in the analysis, critical assessment and application and communication of knowledge in the field of Social Sciences.
MA Math Education
Graduates of this program should have mastery of knowledge, skills and appreciation of the breadth and depth of Mathematics, including the connections between different areas of Mathematics, and between Mathematics and other disciplines. They should create knowledge and innovation as their contribution to promote inclusive development in Mathematics as well as globalization. They will be prepared for PhD Mathematics Education program.
MA General Science Education
The program is designed to update and enrich teachers’ theoretical and technical knowledge in General and Integrated Science; improve the teachers’ capacity to develop and deliver relevant programs in General and Integrated Science; and develop the teacher’s research capabilities for replicating, verifying, validating, contextualizing and/ or applying theoretical and practical knowledge about the different aspects of the educational process.

MA Music Education
MA Guidance and Counseling
Graduates of the program have a comprehensive understanding of the importance of their client as a learner and as a person; have the opportunity to grow and develop to their fullest potential and to promote the right attitude as the basis for their services to their clients; discuss comprehensively the major psychological concepts, theoretical perspectives, and counseling tools and techniques needed in the profession; demonstrate counseling skills, tools, and techniques thus creating opportunities for intrapersonal and interpersonal growth and development; and exhibit the attitudes, values, and beliefs that will enhance their abilities to working with others thereby facilitating the helping process.
MA in Pre-School Education
Graduates of the program are professionals who can exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the current trends and practices in Pre-school Education; assume leadership roles in curriculum development, organization and management of pre-schools; produce innovative and creative instructional materials to improve teaching-learning process; and design and conduct researches in pre-school.

II. Tertiary Programs
1. Bachelor in Elementary Education
This course is anchored on CHED Memorandum Order no. 30 series of 2004 (Revised Policies and Standards for Undergraduate Teacher Education Curriculum), and adheres to the provision of the RA no. 7722 (Higher Education Act of 1994). The program is comprised of BEED General Curriculum, BEED major in Pre-school Education Curriculum and the Enriched BEED, Major in Pre-School Education. Common to these curricula are offerings in General Education, and Professional Education. Content subjects in English, Mathematics, Filipino, Science, MAPE, TLE, Social Studies and Values Education are taken by BEED (General) students; while BEED major in Pre-school Education students have Pre-school Education courses as major subjects.
The course aims to provide quality pre-service preparation to teachers in basic education through upgraded instruction, relevant researches, functional extension services and diverse production activities. It likewise aims to prepare future teachers who are generalists and can teach across the different learning areas in pre-school and elementary levels.
2. Bachelor in Secondary Education Major
This course is structured to meet the needs of professional teachers for secondary schools in the Bicol region and in the country. It aims to equip future teachers with the necessary training through quality and relevant instruction, research, extension and production activities. It also aims to prepare future teachers in the secondary level who are specialists and can teach in the major fields of specialization: English, Filipino, Biology, Physical Science, Physics, Mathematics, Social Studies, MAPEH and TLE.
