After clearing the Stage 1 ISO 9001:2015 Certification Audit, the Bicol University administration is now preparing for the upcoming Stage II Audit which will take place on October 3 to 7, 2022.
The auditors reviewed and evaluated the offices and services in the BU Main Campus and Polangui Campus under the supervision of two SOCOTEC Auditors during the first auditing stage. Erwin Quinto, a SOCOTEC Technical Expert, and Ingrid Manglapus, a SOCOTEC Lead Auditor, examined the management system of document information and assessed the institution’s readiness for the following stage.
With five auditors for Stage 2, seven sites—Main Campus, East Campus, Daraga Campus, Polangui Campus, College, College of Agriculture and Forestry, Tabaco Campus, and Gubat Campus—will go through the eye of the needle in analyzing their service’s efficacy and management system to the clients.

In 2010, under the leadership of former BU President Dr. Fay Lea Patria M. Lauraya, the institution acquired the ISO 9001:2008 certification attesting its quality management system complies with the international quality standard, marking this feat as the first in BU history.
Two years later, the university was awarded a Malacañang recognition as an ISO 9001 Certified Institution that implements government quality management program, along with 59 other government agencies, corporations, institutions, state universities, and colleges.
