Jerome B. Azul, an instructor at the Department of Physics and Meteorology of Bicol University College of Science, attended a two-month Taiwan International Graduate Program, an intensive pre-doctoral research training program at the Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan,  from June 1 to July 31, 2023, 

He is currently working on a project on the characterization of the thermodynamical and microphysical properties of localized thunderstorms using satellite remote sensing and ground-based observations under the guidance of Dr. Chian-Yi Liu, an expert in meteorological satellite remote Sensing, algorithms, and other applications at the Research Center for Environmental Changes of Academia Sinica. 

His research interests are aligned with climate, land cover, and land use. 

“This is really a humbling experience. I hope I can apply all the knowledge I learned here when I get back to Bicol University,” he shared.
