DOLE inks pact with BU to collaborate on Kabuhayan Program

To support Filipinos in establishing and enhancing livelihood projects, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office V secures a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Bicol University (BU) for the implementation of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Programs (DILEEP) or Kabuhayan Program, on May 29, 2024. 

The Kabuhayan Program is a flagship initiative of DOLE providing  financial assistance and training to help start-ups, expand or upgrade businesses, restore sources of income affected by disasters, and transform enterprises into sustainable communities. 

Through the BU Extension Management Division (BUEMD), the program will extend grants to selected and qualified organizations and individuals, complemented by skills training programs that will enhance the beneficiaries’ capabilities.

Present at the MOA signing were BU President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III; Imelda E. Romanillos, OIC DOLE Regional Director, Dr. Lany L. Maceda, BU VP for Research, Development, and Extension, Marilyn L. Luzuriaga, Chief-Labor and Employment Officer, along with other BU and DOLE officials and guests.
