Fostering International Connections: IIEE-Saudi Arabia to train young EE BUeños

Bicol University (BU) embarked on an international collaboration with the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. – Eastern Region Chapter Saudi Arabia (IIEE-ERCSA) to empower neophyte electrical engineering BUeños through specialized webinars and training opportunities. 

Formalized through a virtual Memorandum of Understanding signed on January 19, 2024, this partnership aims to make competent BUeños in their professional field. IIEE-ERCSA will provide high quality education and training programs through webinars, online training, and virtual plant visit programs. The organization will also serve as consultants, resource speakers, and/or trainers in conducting the program. 

“With the signing of this General Bilateral Agreement, we are fulfilling our task of ensuring accessibility, equity, and inclusivity with various opportunities for continuous and global sustainable development,” BU President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III said in his statement of commitment during the virtual MOU signing.

Also present in the virtual meeting were Dr. Ma. Julieta B. Borres, VP for Academic Affairs;Dr. Amelia B. Gonzales, Dean of the BU College of Engineering; Dr. Dimson M. Rivero, Director of the BU International Relations Office; Engr. Rogie Mar A. Bolon, Department Head of the Electrical Engineering Department; and Engr. Alwin M. Lunas, EE Faculty.
