LGU Bula, CamSur-BU partners for community development

May 24, 2024

To enhance capacities and competencies in organizational development and improve internal governance and sustainability, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bula, Camarines Sur has entered a Memorandum of Agreement with Bicol University (BU), through the Jesse M. Robredo Institute of Governance and Development (JMRIGD) in establishing a Civil Society Organization (CSO) on May 13, 2024.

BUJMRIGD will assist in conducting lectures, workshops, and training sessions, providing the necessary facilities and equipment, and disseminating information to ensure active participation from the community. The institute will also prepare and develop program proposals, conduct research, and create learning materials to support the CSOs of LGU Bula.

The research output will be utilized for local, national, and international presentations and publications, with both parties sharing ownership of the findings.

Both parties will work together to document the entire activity process, from implementation to impact assessment. This includes end-of-training evaluations and follow-up activities to enhance the competencies of both facilitators and participants. The partnership outlines a three-year impact assessment period to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs.

The agreement was signed by Hon. Amelita A. Ibasco, LGU Bula Mayor, and BU President Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III, with the presence of Dr. Mary Ruth V. Parro, LGU Bula Official Representative, and Dr. Noemi L. Ibo, BUJMRIGD Dean. | by Arnold C. Noda – IO III, BUCPRO
