After 18 years, the Women’s Varsity Teams of the College of Nursing and College of Arts and Sciences were reunited for a long-awaited football game rematch at the BU Commencement Grounds on July 29, 2023.
In their college days, the CN and CAS teams were fierce rivals, with CN holding the Championship Crown. Now successful alumnae in their respective fields, the players from both teams reunited for this match.
The CN Team, composed of 8 players from batches 2005, 2006, and 2007, locked horns against the CAS Team, boasting 11 players from batches 2005, 2006, and 2007.
Eighteen years have passed, but these former women athletes fought a good game and showed their intense battle skills, experience, and camaraderie. Despite demonstrating their competitive prowess, the match concluded in a 0-0 draw with the CAS Team winning a penalty shootout 3-2, thereby settling the score with their rival.
The reunion football match was more than just a competition. It was an opportunity for the former women athletes and their teams to reconnect and reminisce about their college days as rivals and friends. These memorable and heartwarming experiences brought them back to their youthful days, reinforcing strong bonds and cherished moments to reconnect and relive their past as BUeños. | by Arnold C.
