To welcome the start of their colourful career in Bicol University, the Bicol University Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) gathered the 59 newly-hired teaching and non-teaching personnel of BU for their orientation at ADS Catering Function Hall in Legazpi City last April 15, 16 and 23.

The orientation, attended by 50 teaching and 09 non-teaching personnel, was conducted to provide the freshly hired employees an introduction or enhance their familiarization on the core values, identity, goals and internal workings of the university.

On April 15 and 16, both teaching and non-teaching personnel were first given a discussion on the university’s core values, including its structure, vision, mission, goals and objectives. Through the lecture of BU’s Chief Administrative Officer Atty. Norly P. Reyes, the participants were also given knowledge about the system of governance in BU and about the core of Republic Act 6713 with provisions on benefits and privileges of BU employees.

The new BU employees were also involved in discussions about employment benefits, related policies and updates. They were also officers of the Bicol University Association of Non-Teaching Staff (BUANTS) and Bicol University Union of Federated Faculty Association Incorporated (BUUFFAI) to welcome the new employees and assist them in getting acquainted with their respective associations.

On April 23, the orientation continued but only for the newly-hired teaching personnel. This part of the orientation delved into essential academic matters, including BU’s Academic Policies, extension policies, and other related updates.
