Tabaco Campus students attend financial empowerment seminarTuesday February 6,2018
To strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset, 75 BS Entrepreneurship students from Bicol University Tabaco Campus attended Financial Empowerment Seminar conducted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – Legazpi City Branch last January 26, 2018 at BSP Legazpi City.
In line with the BSP continuing drive to promote greater awareness and understanding of essential economic and financial issues to help the public acquire the knowledge and the skills needed to make well-informed economic and financial decisions, Ms. Sharon B. Moyano, a Bank Officer II of the BSP Legazpi City Branch discussed the role and function of the BSP in the Philippine economy. Also, insights on Basic Money Management and Personal Finance has been tackled and at the end of the seminar, the students were taught on how to distinguish counterfeit notes.
Randy M. Reyes, a fourth year student, stated that the seminar is indeed very helpful and insightful. "It has increased my personal financial consciousness on the values and benefits of being financially empowered,” he added.
The seminar was a valuable opportunity for the students to participate in a positive experience, which is not available in the classroom. Emmanuel Burcer/BUTC
